You can share any Envisiondocs document with a link. People who open the link see a read-only view of the document. Only documents can be shared this way — notes and decks have no share links.
  1. Open the document.
  2. Click Share in the title bar.
  3. In the “Share document” dialog, optionally set:
    • Password (optional) — the placeholder is “Leave blank for public access”.
    • Expires in (days) — the default is Never.
    • Max views — the default is Unlimited.
  4. Click Create share link.
  5. The link appears in a “Share link created” box. Click Copy and send the link to your recipients.
Share links look like https://your-enfusion-address/docs/shared/{token}. Each link is unique.

What recipients see

Recipients open the link in a browser and see a read-only view badged “Shared document | Read only”. They cannot edit the document. If you set a password, recipients must enter it first. Passwords are case-sensitive.

How protections work

  • Password — the password is hashed before storage. Anyone with the link and the password can view the document.
  • Expiry — the link stops working after the number of days you set.
  • Max views — the link stops working after the number of views you set. Views are counted per link.
  • Read-only — recipients can never edit your document through a share link.
  1. Open the document and click Share.
  2. Find the link under Active shares. The list shows each link’s token prefix, view count, and protection status.
  3. Click Remove.
Removing a link deactivates it immediately. The link cannot be reused — if you want to share again, create a new link.

Troubleshooting

See Troubleshoot shared links if a recipient reports that a link does not work or the password is rejected.
