eChat is designed to look great no matter your preference. You can switch between dark mode and light mode at any time — and your choice syncs across your sessions.

Dark mode

eChat’s dark mode uses deep, near-black backgrounds (#151520) with light text and subtle accent colors. It’s easy on the eyes in low-light environments and reduces eye strain during evening or nighttime use. Good for:

• Using eChat at night or in a dark room
• Reducing eye fatigue in low light
• Saving battery on OLED displays

Light mode

Light mode uses bright, clean backgrounds with dark text — ideal for use in well-lit environments or when you prefer a traditional UI. Good for:

• Daytime use or well-lit rooms
• Reading long messages more easily
• Matching system-wide light mode preferences

Design language

eChat uses the MateFluency design system, developed by EcoWestern. This system brings:

• Smooth, rounded UI elements (16px border radius)
• Naturalism effects in the call interface
• Consistent spacing and typography across the app
• Google Sans Flex typefaces for clean, readable text
• Thoughtful color tokens that adapt between dark and light modes

The result is a modern, polished interface that feels native on any device.

Font sizes and accessibility

eChat respects your system’s font size settings on mobile and desktop. If you’ve increased your system’s default font size for accessibility, eChat’s text will scale accordingly.
