Sharing Photos & Videos

eChat lets you share photos and videos directly in any conversation. Files are uploaded securely and can be viewed right inside the chat.

Sending an image or video

Open a conversation

Tap the conversation where you want to share media.

Tap the attachment icon

In the message input bar, tap the paperclip / attachment icon to open the attachment picker.

Choose your file

Select Photo or Video from the menu, then choose the file from your device’s gallery or file system.

Send

The file will upload automatically. Once ready, it’s sent to the conversation and displayed inline.

Images appear as thumbnails directly in the message stream. Tap any image to open it in the full-screen viewer.
Videos display with a play button. Tap to play the video inline.
In the full-screen viewer, you can pinch to zoom, swipe to browse other shared images, and close by tapping the ✕ button.

Very large files may take a moment to upload depending on your connection speed. A progress indicator will appear while the upload is in progress.

Photos: For the best quality, share images as JPEG or PNG. Screenshots work great too.
Videos: Keep videos short (under a minute) for faster uploads and smoother playback.
Storage: Shared files are stored securely on eChat’s servers and are accessible to all conversation participants.

To save a photo or video to your device:

Open the media in the full-screen viewer.
On mobile, press and hold the image/video and select Save to Photos or Download.
On desktop, right-click and choose Save image as… or Save video as….

You can send multiple images in a row by sending one after another — they’ll group together nicely in the conversation feed.
