Channels
Channels are a broadcast-style communication format in eChat. Unlike group chats where everyone can send messages freely, channels are designed for one-to-many communication, perfect for announcements, community updates, newsletters, and public figures.Groups vs. Channels
Creating a channel

Open the Chat screen
Go to the main Chat screen.

Open the new conversation menu
Tap the + or compose icon and select New Channel.

Name your channel
Enter a name for the channel — for example, “Company Updates”, “Gaming Community”, or “Photography Tips”.

Add initial members
Add the first members (subscribers) by searching for contacts and selecting them. You can add more later.

Create the channel
Tap Create to finalize. The channel is immediately available in your chat list.
Posting to a channel
As a channel Owner or Admin, you can post messages, images, videos, GIFs, and voice notes just like in any other conversation. Members of the channel will receive these messages but cannot reply to the channel directly.Managing channel members
To add or manage members:- Tap the channel name or info icon at the top of the channel.
- In the Conversation Info panel, you can:
- View the full member list
- Add new members (Admins and Owner only)
- Remove members (Admins and Owner only)
- Promote members to Admin
Renaming a channel
- Open the Conversation Info panel.
- Tap the channel name at the top.
- Edit the name and confirm.
Leaving a channel
To leave a channel you’re subscribed to:- Open the Conversation Info panel.
- Tap Leave Channel at the bottom.
Channel Network
eChat has a feature called Channel Network, which allow you to find and join any verified/public channel on the entire platform.Tips for running a great channel
- Post consistently — Subscribers are more likely to stay engaged if you post regularly.
- Use rich media — Images, videos, and GIFs make posts more eye-catching than text alone.
- Keep posts focused — Channels work best when they have a clear topic or purpose.
- Announce your channel — Share your Chattercode and the channel name with potential subscribers.
