Creating Your Account

Getting started with eChat is quick and free. All you need is an email address.

Sign up with email

Open eChat

Navigate to the eChat app in your browser or tap the installed app icon on your device.

Choose Sign Up

On the login screen, select Sign Up to create a new account.

Enter your email and password

Type in your email address and choose a strong password. Your password must be at least 8 characters.

Verify your email

Check your inbox for a verification email from eChat and click the confirmation link. Once verified, you’ll be taken into the app automatically.

Complete onboarding

On your first sign-in, eChat will walk you through setting up your profile, adding your name, display name, and a profile photo. See Setting up your profile for details.

Sign in with EcoWestern SSO

If you already have an Economic ID, you can sign in instantly using Single Sign-On (SSO):
  1. If you aren’t already logged in:
  2. You’ll be redirected to Economic ID at id.ecowestern.net.
  3. Sign in with your credentials.
  4. You’ll be returned to eChat, already logged in.
SSO accounts are linked to your EcoWestern identity. Your eChat profile will be associated with that account.
Your session is remembered on the device, so you won’t need to sign in again unless you explicitly log out.

Trouble signing in?

  • Forgot your password? Use the password reset option on the login screen. A reset link will be sent to your email.
  • Didn’t get a verification email? Check your spam/junk folder. If it’s not there, try signing in again, the app will prompt you to resend the verification.
  • Account locked? Contact EcoWestern support.
